Jukin' at Messenger's
Friday April 16, 2010
Big Daddy & The Jukes
Messenger's will be the
scene for Big Daddy & The Jukes
during the week of the 7th Annual Juke Joint Festival in Clarksdale, MS.
Messenger's is thought to be the oldest continuous operating business in
Clarksdale. Ed Messenger opened sometime
during 1930 and Ed's son Leroy Messenger built in 1948 what you now see at 133
Martin Luther King BLVD (4th Street) in the "New World
District". Stop in and meet Leroy's son, George Messenger and his
wife Myrtle and enjoy some Rib Tips or other specialty items from the menu.
Don't miss Big Daddy's Comeback Party on April 16, 2010 - 9 P.M.
Big Daddy has been involved with the Blues his entire life and
has performed with many well known bluesmen & rockers, even opening for Prince in
Minneapolis, MN. He has been unable to perform the last few years due to
numerous health problems which led to the loss of his left leg due to diabetes. Overcoming
his health problems in 2010, Big Daddy is happy to join with his friends The Jukes at
Messengers for this Comeback Party on the blues side of the tracks in The New
World District.
