Started playing at age 8 along with his father, and is self
taught on piano,
guitar, and drums. Bilbo Jr.
watched Ike Turner and later on listened to
Chuck Berry while developing his own
wild style. Started playing in Chicago
and played on Maxwell Street from 1957 to 1973.
Then he moved to
Bakersfield, CA as he liked California. In addition to
his musical ability, Bilbo
also produced albums for Marvin Gaye and Smokey
Robinson. Up to his death,
Bilbo was often found around Clarksdale, MS playing
in a Juke. Little Junior Bilbo
was a
fun and personable guy.
